It's the Lighting

Photography, after all is the play of light on objects, and so naturally light is a major aspect of taking pictures, and we often don't pay it enough attention. What I would suggest, now that we are in the age of digital cameras, is that you play with the exposure and aperture settings, and pick one that you think says it best. All of these photos are examples of doing just that, with one major exception, and that is the seagull picture, where I didn't have the luxury of time, and so I just kept shooting, and hoped one or two would turn out. Enjoy them, I know I did.

  2. I love the air of mystery about the window; actually, pictures of windows are always a kind of allegory to me. The quiescence of the mountains reflecting in the lake is enchanting...

  3. I am charmed by the first one - It looks like entering another space, another time. Delightful.

  4. It's interesting that you all liked the first picture (and I like it too), but it is taken from Humayan's tomb, a place that looks a lot like the Taj Mahal, but was constructed earlier. It's one of the amazing places in India.

  6. I concur with everyone else; the first one is great. The lines really draw your eye to the center of the photograph.

  8. Thanks to all for your comments. And, yes, I did post several of the pictures earlier, including the first, second, fourth and fifth ones. The other three are new ones.
