Actually, they each embody the design that would be called "serpentine." In the first one the shape of the cormorant forms the serpentine shape. In the second one, it's the river itself that's serpentine. In the third picture, the intricate form of the second column forms the snake-like shape. And in the final picture, the pattern formed by the legs of the crane fly lay out the pattern. Very observant!
