Midday, or how to cheat.
Midday light brings about its own challenges, and the main one is how to make things look less washed out. In the first picture, pointing down after getting your meter reading, or, if you have manual controls, just setting one's aperture up a notch can make the difference. In the second and third pictures, just moving your attention to things in the shade can yield big dividends. Or, like the fourth picture, using a zoom lens, to get away from the distracting background scenery may just be what you need.

Time of Day - Early to mid morning
These photos are examples of the light of early - mid morning. One of the best times for point and shoot cameras, because the light is not as challenging, but beware of your photos turning bland, sometimes you have to create some contrasting elements, as in the last photo, and beware of unique lighting situations, as in the third photo.
